Sarah Baraie is a passionate art educator, a working artist, and a loving mother. She began her career path at the State University of New York- College at Brockport in 2003 as an Interdisciplinary Arts for Children major. Arts for Children was a unique experience, where Sarah created lessons and taught academic subjects through the arts (visual, dance, music, and theatre.) While studying at SUNY Brockport, she couldn’t get enough of the arts and added a dual major in Studio Art where her emphasis of study was ceramics. While working in Brockport’s art studio, Sarah was exposed to printmaking, drawing, painting, and sculpture techniques. She is blessed to have gained a broad understanding of Art History with a focus on the 20th Century and Women in Art. Sarah graduated from Brockport in 2006 and immediately after she taught Pre-School until she learned that she was expecting her son Ethan in 2007. In Spring of 2008, Sarah began her studies as a Post-Baccalaureate in Art Education at Buffalo State College. While at Buffalo State, Sarah developed a wild passion for Art Education and Art Advocacy. She sharpened her research skills while obtaining pedagogy in teaching fine art to children in grades K-12. She graduated with her New York State teaching certification in December 2009. Sarah’s latest experience at a Reggio-Emilia inspired Early Childhood school as a Program Director and Studio Art Teacher was an enriching experience that sharpened her skills in teaching very young children. She is currently in the process of relocating to Brooklyn, Ny and is excited to begin a new chapter in her life.
